The Ink-Stained Voyager
A gatherer of moonbeams and quiet moments, translating the whispers of the wind into stories for the young and young at heart.
I am a semi-retired nurse from a rural village in Cheshire, UK who enjoys unwinding by writing poems and short stories, some of which—much to my amazement—have been published in anthologies and magazines under the pen name Cassie Hughes. Married with one grown-up son and a playful sense of humour, I am often found dressing up for the annual carnival parade and other community events. An avid reader, I also play the ukulele passably and a surdo drum in a samba band.
The Creative Journey
Early Whispers
I started writing at a very early age and always carried a notebook for jotting down ideas and poems. If I wasn't writing I was reading and often still have two or three books on the go at the same time.
Evolution of Ink
Today, every word is a bridge to wonder, connecting the literary influences of the past with the hopeful stories of the future.
Finding the Voice
Inspired by the classics and the quiet magic of daily life, the craft evolved into a dance between deep reflection and playful whimsy.
Continuous Discovery
The journey never truly ends. It shifts and transforms with every reader who finds a piece of their own magic within these lines.
Whispering to the World
Our mission is to cultivate a sanctuary where the quietest whispers of the soul find their resonance in verse. We envision a community bound by the whimsical threads of shared stories, sparking imagination in the young and a sense of wonder in the young at heart, ensuring every voice finds its way home through the power of creative expression.
